“Improving and Securing Indigenous Peoples’ Land and Natural Resource Governance Forum”

On the 28th of June 2019, 198 attendees including farmers from each township of Karenni (Kayah) State, indigenous people, civil society representatives and interested individuals participated in studying our beautiful culture at the ” Improving and Securing Indigenous Peoples’ Land and Natural Resources Governance Forum” in Demawso, Karenni (Kayah) State.  During the forum, indigenous people and the local residents discussed challenges, threats, arrests and lawsuits occurring related to land and natural resources governance in their areas and the Karenni Land Policy.
